Chalk Marks On The Road Ahead
It seems unbelievable that it has been two years since it last happened, but tomorrow I leave for the Marillion convention. I’m packed and ready and absolutely itching to get on the road – the opportunity to journey across the south of England, once again, is very welcome. The new selection of tunes for the journey has been compiled; that said, it’s the combination of the tunes which is new, as opposed to the tunes themselves, since the first half is made up of classic prog. I’d like it to be known at this point, that this decision was not an attempt to rally against the many people who love Marillion but distance themselves from prog, nor was it me reverting to type. The prog element was at the request of my travel companion. He’ll deny it, should you ask, of course. Car journeys are great.
…And this is all before the big event itself. I’m looking forward to a weekend of great music and the opportunity to surround myself with friends, strangers, strangers I’d like to think of as friends…and of course, plain strange friends.
(Nobody mention Enormous Derek the singing Scotsman and everything will be fine).
